TeamJackal announces Sponsorship deal with Aramex Couriers

In what is probably a groundbreaking deal in Bahrain Yacht racing circles, TeamJackal racing today announced a sponsorship deal with Aramex Couriers, who will support the team throughout the forthcoming year of racing. While the exact details of the deal remains confidential, TeamJackal are pleased to have Aramex support for their forthcoming campaigns.

A recent meeting between TeamJackal skipper, Nicholas Lunn and Aramex Country Manager, Basem Malhas resulted in the final sponsorship agreement. " This partnership will benefit TeamJackal in many ways", explained Lunn. "I and my team are thrilled to be racing with a company that has demonstrated a clear commitment to service here in the Middle East. Aramex have a track record of providing a highly competent and customer focused freight and courier service, both throughout the region and internationally. They will be responsible for shipping all of our equipment from around the globe and therefore form a vital part of our team".

"TeamJackal races every second week on average," adds Malhas, "They may race in a small arena, but the team displays the professionalism and commitment of much larger international campaigns. A winning team is all about commitment; about going the extra distance. TeamJackal does just that, and we at Aramex empathise with their approach. Do it right, be the best that you can be. That's the overall philosophy of Aramex and due to that synergy of thought and action, we are delighted to join the Jackal team in their quest for excellence."

The TeamJackal race campaign relies heavily on spare parts and repairs from its yachting suppliers in the US. Harken hardware; KVH Electronics; Hall Spars rigging systems and the vital involvement of Quantum Sail Design, all based in Rhode Island, and the team draws heavily on the expertise of these industry leaders, together with the servicing of equipment and supply of replacement parts. Aramex are perfectly positioned to ensure that the constant stream of spares arrives with alacrity and well-streamlined efficiency.

Jackal bowman, Hamish McIntyre comments, "When we're out there racing, on the edge and we have gear failure we absolutely need to rely on someone getting replacements to us fast. Without that certainty we would be dead ducks in the water for the next race. From my position up on the bow challenging the best round-the-cans racers in Bahrain, in light or heavy weather, gear failure is a constant nightmare. I'm glad that we've got Aramex on our side, because if the spinnaker rips in half one week, we'll be out there with a new one the next."

While the rest of the team remain highly dubious about the cost of ripping a spinnaker a week, they are all delighted to welcome Aramex to the race team, and look forward to a long and successful partnership.
